How come my shop light started working again?

About 6 months ago 1 out of 4 lights quit working. Now fast forward to about a week ago it decided to kick back on and work with the rest of them. Why?

Is that light on the same circuit? Have you checked the connections? Does it have a ballast? Is it a smart light and was your wife messing with you? Was a rodent messing with you and now completing the circuit?

What kind of light fixture? Fluorescent, incandescent, LED, kerosine?

I had one light at my shop that was doing the same thing. I was too lazy to get out the big ladder and do something about it. I'm sure it was a ballast going wonky or a loose bulb. Some days it would come on, others it would wait an hour or so and then turn on. I swapped them all out for led tubes a couple of years ago and have not had the problem since.

Or you could check connections like others have mentioned or tell us what kind of light it is.
I have some old 8 ft fluorescent tube fixtures and some times one will just quit or flicker a little, then bam like FM it starts working again.

I sure do miss the fluorescent lights. These led lights are heavy too. You're telling me I'm supposed to hang onto a ladder 15ft in the air with this 25lb thing dangly to one arm? I need to get my scissor lift working before I do that

Poor QC in the light factory. There is an intermittent break probably temperature based.

The actual LED will last 20+ years, but the poor manufacturing practices make for premature failure. I am getting 3-6 years.

Hmm, not sure about heavy LEDs.
I put up 10 UFOs and hung them from that chain a cheap fixture comes with.
They can't be more than 6 lbs each if that.
Sunco 200 watts 25000 lumens each I think is what they are.

The were the commercial brand 1x2ft panel style led lights from home depot. Ok....specs say 12 lbs, but they seem heavier than that. I used to do warehouse work and had a good feel for weight before putting stuff on the scale. Specs probably dont include the shipping weight
