the guy he stole it from must have gotten a few rounds off, and as he rounded a curve going too fast while making his getaway, the top must have come flying off...

Think of it this way - if the bullets didn't go through the metal, they bounced back off the metal. That would be scary as hell if it were still in a shop somewhere!

Wonder if he bought it from a police auction? If somebody died in front of the box, it might have been evidence and the police took it and the family didn't want it back??

Just my WAG. Sure ***** though. :(

I love the description, "THE DALE EARNHARDT PAINT ON THE TOP AND DRAWERS IS IN GOOD SHAPE."

Except where the metal is missing.

Pretty sure he means the bullets didn't make it out the back, just into the front. If there were tools in it when it got shot, I would not be surprised at all that it stopped the bullet. Think about a bullet hitting an impact socket (or a large wrench or some heavy solid tool) and just ricocheting inside the box. If it was a pistol, then that is also a slower bullet, not to mention Snap On boxes are not made out of Craftsman quality sheet metal lol...

It looks like just dents, not holes.

Well, if someone ever busts into my shop and starts shooting, I'm jumping behind my co-workers' SO box...

On second thought, I may be able to use this to my advantage with my wife. "But honey, it's protection in case someone goes postal in the shop!"

The harbor freight box will just as easily stop those bullets, and is 10x cheaper.
