Assuming you got both the top and bottom....you did well...

I'm guessing those are friction slides and not ball bearing...

If ball bearing....then you would earn a "You ****".

You did well, that's the tall bottom box(idk if they even made a short back then) and tall top box, lots of drawers and only a small bottom cubby. Good score

$65 for both. :scared: Great deal. Those are really well built boxes and offer lots of storage. :thumbup:They are friction slides, but very good friction slides at that. Nothing like today's cman boxes.

If you open the top lid, in the bottom of the far left divided portion it should be stamped date 19XX and "Made in USA" The bottom box look to be in really good condition, and the top doesn't look bad itself.

I have that set with the lower having all drawers. Bought mine in 1972.

I recently inherited the same box as you, but under sad circumstances. My Dad died of cancer. I always loved that box, but didn't want to get it the way I did. He was definitely a one of a kind genuine good man. He bought it new, so I am the second owner. These are very good, well built boxes for home use. Around here I see them going for $250 regularly on CL. Good score, You definitely ****.

Less than $5 a drawer? yeah you ****. That is about the best of the friction slide boxes Craftsman had, construction wise. ("I" beam constriction on the side of the roller, right?)

I had that top back in the day. A friend is still using it.

I just bought this craftsman tool box over the weekend for $65

how old is it?

That's an extremely nice find for $65 and the condition looks to be very good. I would have gladly paid twice the price, maybe more, if I had need for storage and wanted a nice vintage piece.

Great score! :rocker:
