How do I assemble this Schreader tire gauge?

I assemble it but gauge just falls out when tipped, am I missing a piece possible?

Based on the parts I see:
Place spring over gauge, (loose coils up).
Pass gauge through brass locator bushing then plastic bushing. Spring should rest on brass.
Insert spring/bushing and gauge assembly into body.
Place diaphragm plunger on top of spring/gauge assembly and hold in place while installing the Schrader head.
Screw down Schrader head.

Test with known pressure for accuracy and repeatability. If inaccurate, invert the spring and retest.

OR

Toss the whole thing out and get another for a few $.

Thanks guys I'm missing the felt maybe that holds the gauge in better. Don't want to toss it, this was my dad's .
