How do I disassemble a Snap-on MV71 ratchet?

I picked up this MV71 at a flea market for $1.00, but it was rusted solid. After a soak in Evaporust and some Kroil, I managed to get it apart without breaking the screws. How do I get the ratcheting direction selector out to fix the spring and ball so it will ratchet again? Is this a "destroy the selector" and get a kit process?

Not sure but certainly looks like it needs to be punched out... good luck. I just put parts kits in three (different) Snap on ratchets this am...

Assuming you need to punch it out and buy a new selector switch that can be staked, if it's still available.

With a small pin punch you may be able to drive it out and restate it.
I have gotten away with it a couple times, but sometimes it does not work
