How do I fix this?

While working in the shop this weekend, my large 3-jaw puller lost its swivel centering tip - the clip holding it to the center shaft disintegrated. It's a no-name piece of junk, so warranty is out of the question, but is there something I could use or modify to get it back together? Maybe a modified snap ring?

the original piece was probably a c shaped piece of spring wire. you could prob fit a o ring on it and call it good.

get a peice of spring wire the same size as the groove. Bend it around the shaft until you have about 3/16 of inch gap. then put a little oil on it and tap the end peice back on. It's just a retainer clip.

Agreed, easiest solution. Or depending on the severity and frequency of use, maybe you could get away with an o-ring.

A rubber O-ring might work. Once load is applied, the retainer shouldn't be in play.

I was just reviewing a bunch of tube flaring kits, and at least on of the screw presses had a rubber O-ring holding the end on. It would just pop on and off.
