How do I get points

I have tried to reply a to a few different threads but it tells me I need 20 points to post. How do I earn points if I can't post?

I am an idiot, it says post's not points. Anyways here is 2 towards my 20 needed.

Make them productive posts not simple 1-2 word post or they will get deleted.
