How do I reattach a power cord

I have a old Kelvinator refrigerator that has the power cord removed. The remaining wires are labeld "black" and "white". The previous owner had it run off of a cut up extension cord but I want to properly reattach a power cord. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this? I know these are terrible pics but I can take better more specific shots of something if that will help......

black is going to be your hot wire, white is going to be common, and their should be a ground in the fridge somewhere.
