Last night vandals tossed a gallon or two of blue pool paint on my concrete driveway. I have mopped up everything I could with rags. Now I need to find something to remove the bright blue layer of paint.

The paint is NOT water soluable. It is very rubberized in texture.

Can anyone recommend a way to remove this mess?

Thanks,
Spud

Sandblast, otherwise you'll never get it out of all the cracks, crevices & texture.

I won't even start on what ought to happen to the vandals.

The muriatic acid is going to etch your concrete. I would start with a high powered pressure washer with the rotating nozzle.

I don't know how muriatic is at removing paint, but it'll clearn up the concrete a good bit and is worth trying.

I would start with a pressure washer, you may be surprised that the dirt on the driveway may make it easy to come up

Then go chemical then sandblast

I had a gallon of white paint spill in my driveway. I used some paint thinner to soften/ dissolve and the pressure washed. It came right off but it took a while to get it all. I used the zero degree nozzle that is almost a straight line. I had to clean it up with paper towels first.

I was getting shingles and paint out of the truck with the wheel barrow an ran up the ramp type curb to the street. Paint can fell out off the wheel barrow and didn't open until a bundle of shingles smashed the can and popped off the lid. I held the paint in one area with the shingle bundles until I could clean it up. $30 gallon of paint and a $35 bundle of shingles ruined. The other bundles had white paint on some shingles. I just used those for the short sections and on the back side of the barn.

Good news - my neighbor loaned me a 3400 psi professional grade power washer and it all came off. It took about an hour but in the end it was all clean. Darn good thing that it worked. The thinner and stripper that i attempted to use didn't even make a dent in the stuff. Luckly it didn't adhere well to the dirty concrete so it came off with water pressure.
