Are there date marks on the tool boxes (portable) or do you go by style of the logo or what?

If I am not mistaken, I believe I saw dates on SO tool boxes

Also I have a Homak tool box with the metal logo with made in USA on it, sorry I dont have pics of it, ill try to get one up later, its a portable with no pull out drawer but a tool tray, and it has the corner protectors, any idea when it was made

You have to talk real nice to them, and flatter them with sweet words like "you sure have nice handles", and wow your drawers sure slide smoothly.

Ever since I put Snap-On & Matco in them, they won't even talk to me anymore. Damn they are such the jealous type. ;)

Nah guys, I think he means when the box was made LOL
I go off the style of the Craftsman tag, that tells me which era, from there I start searching the old catalogs to pin down a specific year.

If she's an older gal, then you would have to ask daddy a.k.a MBC if you could court his daughter. If she's a younger gal, then you would have to go South of the Border and look for a ******* named Hecho En Mexico and tell him you're gonna abuse the ever-loving **** out of her.

I've always found flowers and chocolates go a long way. ;)

I've owned several Craftsman boxes and only found dates stamped on a couple of the two drawer top boxes in the top compartment.

Mostly I date them from how they look, similar to how I date my women.

If the tool box is older one, you have to treat it with PB50 lubricant, a shop towel and likely a fresh coat of oil based paint.

If the box is brand new, you will likely only need a little bit of PB50 and a shop towel to wipe clean the first time or so.

Sit on it. If it is sturdy, then it is an older model. If it crumbles, it is a newer model. Both of them, however, like you to sit on them.
