How do you display/store old tools?

My father just gave me his old tools some of which date back to his apprentiship in England (1953, think Wentworth, MG, Jag etc) and I would like to display them along with my old Walker Roll-A-Car (see my restore thread for pics).

I am interested in ideas and examples. Should I go with a glass front cabinet, drawers or if I could find one, a similarly aged tool box?

I really like the display at the store ( "fly'n'buy") in "Condor Flats" in California Adventures. I tried to use some of their ideas, they have an old tool box, a belly tank racer and some other pretty cool stuff in this store.
if you google flynbuy or condor flat you can find lots of pictures of the store and how things are displayed.

I picked up a nice Snap-on box for my Stanley planes.

Depending on the volume of tools, vintage tool box and a display cabinet. I would not use glass doors in the shop however, go with plexi/lexan, as anything flying/falling will find that glass. (Based on my track record of finding/buying windshields, and having that happen to all but one of them...)

Snap-on has wall mount tool cabinets with tool boards inside
I turned the tool board around and painted the outline of the tools
on the blank board They look pretty good on the wall

This caught my eye at a sale a while back and I had to have it. Kind of a vintage display for some not so vintage tools. I haven't even hung it up anywhere yet because my garage is still such a mess and unorganized.

Open shelving works for me. I can pick them up, maybe use them from time to time. Not too much of a problem keeping things dusted off with a vac, air hose and feather duster all at hand.

Pegboard for me.

Might work for you too, but since these are your Dad's tools and you didn't buy them piecemeal I would go with a specific box or display cabinet.(Non glass doors)

Guess you've never worked in a store. Grocers still carry them in their back pocket. I've worn them down to the quills.

A couple of options

One
Build shadow boxes to go on the wall that look like the snap on ines but not as deep su they don't cause an obstruction

Two
Make your own tool boards that make them look like they are on a store display

Three
Get an old toolbox and restore it to condition like you would put inside the house.
Put the tools in it laid out really nice
Put it in the house
