how do you ground this box extension?

Raco 187, I don't know if my outlet is going to be "self grounding" I don't even know if I will have the outlet because I may move it down the conduit. Do I use those lock ring grounder?

If you’r outlet is grounded and ur box is grounded then your box extension will be grounded

Assuming you are putting this over a plastic box? Just drill a hole in the back, the ground screw will tap it's own threads.

It is going to a plastic box in wall, so by itself is not going to be grounded.

Does anyone know self grounding receptacle is meant to "get" the ground from the box, not to be "used" to pass the ground to the box? Electrically it all works but code is something else.

Ground continuity cannot depend on a device. Meaning all other parts must stay grounded even if you remove the device (receptacle).

You cannot use a self grounding outlet to bond a box.

Those are always a pain to ground. Not sure why they don't provide a pre-tapped ground hole like all boxes. They are super handy though. I usually use a ground clip, but drilling and tapping a 10-32 would be even better.
