Looking for innovative alternatives to throwing them in a tool box drawer. Also interested in how you store your batteries and charge them. Thanks.

The ones at work are stored in my power tool drawer with the batteries in them.

The ones at home in my un heated detached shop are in the power tool drawer without batteries. All the batteries are in a Milwaukee nylon bag in the heated attached garage that I grab on my way to the shop.

5 drawer lower roll cabinet works for me to hold the ones not often used in my home garage. Solder iron, heat gun big hammer drill, RA's etc. Most of my impacts wrenches and work lights stay out on the workbench or on top of the rollaway box. and I have a group of chargers plugged into a multi outlet power bar as batteries keep getting recharged.

Some guy gave me these shelving racks and I had tools stored on them for while but I do prefer the drawers out site out of mind from prying eyes. I do have the big poly Milwaukee storage box too. Peg boards and stuff like that look nice I'm not one to display my tools

As the GF visited and we were down in the garage she seen a bunch of pistol grip tools

(and of course they all looked alike to her) on the bench and she says...how many drills does a guy need anyways?

I picked up the heat gun and said "you can use this one for a hair drier" :D

I've never been a fan of power tools in drawers either. Mine are stored all over based on where they're used. Cordless impact in the car, saws just inside the garage for breaking down pallets or boards for the wood stove, impact driver and cordless vac with my tool bag, and radio in the car since my car stereo doesn't work.

All my batteries and chargers are in the closet just inside the house.

I like them locked in the drawers. I have a lot of money invested in them, and I'm too concerned about about thieves to leave them out. A couple years ago some scumbag was going around my neighborhood and sneaking into garages and taking people's power tools to the pawn shop.

I just keep mine in their original hard sided Makita cases. There's a lot of extra space in them so I keep extra stuff inside like drill bits, torpedo level, etc..

How are the batteries on the side hanging on? And how are the batteries under the shelf attached? It looks great.

Ryan I've looked at many tool storage areas (and have built some of my own) but I have to say yours is one of the nicest I've seen and probably my personal favorite. Now I have to rebuild mine again!

Ryan, your setup is pretty cool. Nice work!
I do not have a large garage to keep the power tools out and I really do not like having them presented to the neighbors to grab at will. I was really looking for a tool drawer solution. This one fit the bill at $159, not cheap but it is made very well. I'll grab some photos and post.

It fits into my Homak RS pro's bottom left or right drawers perfectly. On a side note, very happy with the Homak RS pro box. It was HF US general or this box. Love that the drawers have a opening system that is spring loaded and can be released from anywhere on the drawers. I should probably post a review on this box but it might be too soon. I have only had it for about 10 months but love it.

A couple came in a hard case. The hard case sits in the bottom part of my toolbox. The others hang up on a shelf I made with the charger and batteries on the shelf.

I always store mine scattered in the last place I used them. Failing memory adds to the thrill of the hunt.

I hang the tools but made the battery rack last week after I added a couple of new batteries to my collection

Very nice build, gives me some inspiration.
Been looking to build something similar to upgrade the pvc pipe holders i made about a yr ago. But I am looking at tools hanging upright with Batts attached, batt storage and chargers integrated.
Of course for my Red tools too. They seem to be on the fat side at the handles especially the M12 in comparison to others. And the directional switches... Seems each slot is going to be custom fit to the tool it hangs.

I googled capitola industries and came up blank. Looks really well made. Interested in it too.
Cheers
