Starting to think using drawers in my tool box to store hammers isn't the best use of space. How many of you made a rack of some sort for your hammmers? If so, could you post some pictures of your hammer racks? Thanks.

Tool box drawer, other tool box, couple hanging up, couple here and there...

seriously tho - I have them in my box drawer at work, mechanics hammers in the box drawer at home, claw hammers in my carpentry box, one claw in my painting tools, one claw in my electrical belt (with the other electricians tools), a claw in the shed on the wall, and a ball peen in the shed in my portable tools bag.

at work everything gets locked up at night, when I do electrical work or have a remodeling/construction job I don't want to put together the tools every time. Used to use them regularly enough to justify "tool sets", if you will.

I have a well built older craftsman work bench that I have reinforced and topped with maple bowling alley on top. I have 2 drawers with hammers. Just because I like saying that's dumber than a drawer full of hammers. I know, I am idiot. My dad bolted a 40mm ammo can to his box that he has put his hammers in for 45 years

There are some good ideas in the linked threads! Hammers were hung on a pegboard over the workbench at the old place. The few that I inherited are currently taking up space in a tool chest drawer.

take chunk of aluminum angle... add holes.. mount to side of cart... no more hunting for that BFH when you want to beat on something

This is a simple floor standing rack I made a few years ago.

The penny dropped quickly that I had way more hammers than that would hold though, :D so my current rack is similar to that but around 6' high with three sets of those slats for hanging hammers. Newer one is fixed rather than freestanding.

It would be easy to make a rack for them for the side of the toolbox.

Personally I pack mine in a toolbox drawer laying opposite ways to minimize the space between them, but that's my work box where I prefer to have the ability to lock everything up.

Most of mine are in a drawer, but I have a few others hanging here and there. Guess hammer rack is another item on the ol todo list.
