I found a product a while back called Gecko's Toes that assists with extension cord management. The video at the following link shows its use as well as what I did for installation.

They are Made in USA and are about $10 on Amazon for the model that accepts extension cords. They also sell them for air hoses and water hoses.

I use one of these:

The gecko toe is kinda nifty though. I have a cord reel hanging form the ceiling and use that mostly, but the gecko would be a cheaper way of having a pull out cord. Might get one for air hose though.

Hung by a 12-15'' black rubber bungee cord with top hook up behind and hooked up on top of the pearling in my metal shop and the other end around the wrapped cord, works great.

Over under loops around my hand and elbow leaving about 4 feet or so to wrap around the middle and then plug the ends together. Hang the loops on a bicycle hook screwed into a solid part of your wall at a convenient height.

Yep! I putting a decent amount of outlets so I think I will have various lengths in the shorter end of the spectrum (20' and under). Anything longer going into the shed.

Well there's 4 minutes 20 seconds I'll never get back! I'm always amazed at the number of people with a cheap recorder & access to youtube that think they're a combination director/actor. They can all take 90 seconds to say something that should take 5 seconds.

I hang my cords from peg board hooks. Take off what I need, or the whole thing...shrug>

i use the orange cord reels and stack them, or hang them on a nail. do my air hoses the same way. some guys hate cord reels, but i like them for my 100ft stuff. 50ft cords just get coiled and hung on a nail or whatever is sticking out of the wall.

+1 and some Bayco cord reels. I've made my own cords in the past from nice heavy wire and Hubbell ends.

One time at work, we needed an extension cord so I made one. My shop director is like "Where did this heavy duty cord come from?" I said, "Yours truly, I couldn't wait for purchasing to get us one for the meeting, so I made it from the leftover piece we had in stock, it was 25' long, perfect length".

He laughed and said to the vendor we were having the meeting with, "And you thought he was just a white collar guy..."

A garden hose hanger like this one works great for extension cords and compressor hoses. I'm going to put up a few of these for my collection of air hoses. There are similar looking ones for a vacuum cleaner hose that would work too.

I've learned to try to coil them up like the came from the factory (NOT the "wind over arm" like a rope hank.) I then hang them from a bungee or a looped piece of nylon string from a hook.
