I have prepared a list of questions with a cad detail. Have converted to bmp image. I appears to be too large.

My question is how do you insert an image to the forum and in what format must it be in.

Open your image up in Paint and save it as a JPG. It will be considerably smaller. If it is not small enough to post on here, then post it to a site like PhotoBucket, ImageShack, etc. Then either give the URL for it, or post it using the image button above in your reply box. Bitmaps are usually too large for most sites. J'Pegs take up way less bytes, but still lets you see a clear image.

if it's too large for the forums "manage attachments" tool you need to either resize it to something below the limits or use a 3rd party photo hosting tool and use their link in your post.

I use Photobucket.com because it's easy and it's what I've used for several years now. Free photo hosting and it's easy to copy + paste the links to another page (like this one).
