Currently, an Engineering technical teacher, probably very similar to what you blokes call a shop teacher.
I have been a tradesman boilermaker, certified and ticketed welder, trade college instructor, welding instructor, welding codes testing officer and apprentice trainer.

I repair musical instruments--specifically high-end clarinet and oboe. I've been doing it for 38 years and still really enjoy what I do. The craft allows me to really invest in hand tools and design new tools since it is such a small world and there aren't tools available for certain jobs. On the side, I've always enjoyed working on cars and bikes (both motorcycles and bicycles), so I'm a real diverse "toolie" kind of guy.

early years...ASE certified...not quite 'master', still wrenching on the side.
then 25+ years as a machinist, mostly prototype and short runs, all manual machines.
tools comensurate with both professions.
freshly retired due to a shoulder injury.
Still no time for my own projects!
