How do you guys organize your hammers? Currently mine are in a box since I have no idea where to put them. There are too many for a drawer or two, and I don't have the wall space for pegboard, so I'm looking for ideas.

I've been using the Hammer Wizard™, works fantastic, don't know where I'd be without it.*

*Big drawer for the dead blows and smaller drawer for the ball peen and thinner hammers.

Probably going to steal somebody's thunder but these both look good. Especially the ones standing on end. I don't know how he does that but I assume its with a magnetic strip across the back of the drawer?

Also, Jack Olsen has a nice wall mounted cbinet full of ball peen hammers; I looked for a copy of the picture but I don't have it. He'll probably post it here later.

The picture in post #10 on the right is my box. I just keep them in my bottom drawer. They are smashed together....no magnets needed. I actually squeezed a couple more in there since I took that picture.

I also have some more in another box.....well come to think of it.... I have a milk crate full of more hammers on a shelf I picked up from a guy on CL. Just never went through them. (Thanks I forgot all about them)! Time to clean some of them up!

Well, as you can see I was impressed enough to save your picture:bowdown:

If you pull a hammer out of there do all the rest fall over? Wouldn't a magnet strip keep them this way? I intend to try it, I just don't have enough hammers yet!:bounce:

Thanks, but I've got a box full of **** already!:bounce:

I was thinking about it and remembering the price of a few things I saw at HF last night and hammers (well SOME hammers) are the perfect "dumb tool" to buy at HF. At least I think so. I saw a decent set of 5 ball peens together and a couple of dead blow hammers as well as a plastic hammer I need for working on some aluminum auto trim I want to restore, not to mention some of my Dad's old masonry hammers.....on reconsideration I've got enough hammers.:headscrat

To bad you don't have any wall space, I have most of mine on pegboard. The long hooks work well because I can put 4 ball peens on 1 double hook. I have my PB and snapon hammers in my tool box.

toss em in the bottom drawer, sometimes i have the urge to organize them but give it a week and its back to a pile of hammers. the big ones are on the floor waiting to be slammed into something.

Most of my hammers are kept in a drawer in my box. I also keep a few hammers hanging on the wall by my lathe and over the main bench.
