The top of the grey pvc cement was left open and I have some on pants I'd rather not have some on.

Acetone, but not sure what it will do to the pants.

Depends on what the pant matarial is, cotton, or nylon, will withstand acetone. The nylon part found out when grabbed acetone rather then something else & did fine.

Burning them is the only way I found that really works.

Crack/peel,takes a long time to do it though.
