Jim,

You go standard to 2 1/2! :wtf: Man I stopped at 1 5/8 and I do not recall ever needing the big boy! what are you working on that takes you to 2 1/2 ?

To answer your question, I just keep mine neatly stacked behind my rack that holds my set of wrenches that stops at 1 1/4 standard. I have a seperate top box I keep all my metric in, my larger metrics are just kinda stacked up in the drawer, it is not a particularly nice looking display, but it is plenty functional so I am good with it!

mine are all hung on a piece of plywood on the wall.

'course, I've got ADD so I find I'm better with them in sight plus my old Craftsman box is pretty damn full.

i had one drawer that hold all 6mm to 36mm wrench (no 34mm) and 1/4 to 2 inch wrenches in one snap on drawer in my KRL1001(26in wide and 2 in tall drawer) . it is fit good and i put it origanized. i dont use my wrenches much i do with sockets as i used a lot of impact swivel sockets!!!

I sure as hell dont own any 2 inch wrenches, but for my wrenches, up to 1 1/4, the sizes past 1 inch get "filed" so to speak. I lay one flat against the back of the drawer, the next one go's right next to it. The downside is that you will need a tall drawer for a 2 inch wrench, but still, they stay nice and organized.

I too don't have any 2" wrenchs but, I have up to 1 5/8" and store them in/on these rack/rail things. I put the smaller combination wrenchs in the standard wrench racks in another drawer

William....

I have my Craftsman SAE stubby, standard, and crowsfeet wrenches 1/4 - 1-1/4 in a drawer of my top box. I have my long fully polished in a drawer of my base with my Mac 1-3/16 - 2 on edge at the back. I have Snap-On crows feet up to 3" and Crescent wrenches. I use 2" on hydraulic lines occasionally. My metric wrenches go up to 36MM and I have 3/4" drive sickets up to 50mm which is needed for some semi truck transmissions. My mobile tools are in rolls under the back seat of the truck. I carry 1/4 - 2" and 6 - 36mm.

thanks for the ideas guys but keeping them in the chest isnt working out limited space andtoo many wrench sizes and types. they were hanging up on the peg board wall probly will go back up they take up about 4 foot by 6 foot of peg board. I have some older bonaloys from bonney that have round handles as well as my 1 3/4to 2 inch double box end with an oval handle they really dont work well in wrench racks
I have yet to need the 2 incher but if I do I got it it came from my foster dads tools as did several tools I have he was a machaic in they army joined at 17 served in ww 2 came back stateside to fort irwien here in calif retired after 23 years as atop sargent running the moter pool and then went to work for santa fe rail road as a deasil machanic working on locomotives in the bbarstow calif yard so he had some really big tools he had wrench and pipe wernchs as some ajustibal wrenchs that were bigger then I was at 9 years old
allmost all my tools have come down to me from famely and freinds or have been bought used you cant beat these old brands today
the 1 3/4 by 2 has no brand name on it just 41- W-890-20 Im not sure but I think its a plumb\proto it 26 inchs long and still has some of its camoflage paint on it dad said it was from a sherman tank but I dont know if thats true or just to impress his 7 young foster sons

Very true.
I have a lot of old tools that have outlasted generations of family members. You can't put a price on that.

Hang the SAE ones on the peg board, cant lose one after a job when you KNOW its missing from it not being in its spot on the wall. Havent decided if the Metric is going up there as well yet.
