How do you guys prefer to store your specialty tool sets? I'm talking about larger stuff that comes in a blow molded case like puller sets, ball joint presses, flaring tools, etc. I dont have nearly the box space, and I dont want to pull the tools out of the cases as pieces and manuals will end up missing. I'm thinking a nice metal cabinet would be nice, but I havent been able to find anything locally. Just curious to see how people do things.

Big bottom drawers of my tool chests and shelving underneath my workbench for me. Same with my larger equipment like chop saw, mitre saw, router table, etc

Shelving unit.
Gang box.
Plastic box/organizing tray tossed, and items of a kit consolidated into a steel/ plastic toolbox.

I have some filing cabinets I use for stuff like that. Also use it for odd-ball power tools [circ saw, sawzall, etc].

mostly on the floor in its case.....such as.....hydraulic ram body work set....all the 3/4" and 1" sockets, reciprocating saw, Hole saw, gas powered framing nailer, all nailers, dremel kit, all HVLP guns go back in original packing case.....its just to much to put in tool cabinets

couple of cheap bulky item storage ideas.

the large red cab on the wall is out of a service van we sold. freebie

i keep electric grinders and consumables in it

large black cab on the back wall was found in someones trash. freebie

grease, oil & A/F storage

red cab is 48" high x 24" wide 12" deep
black cab is 48" x 48" x 24" deep

also have 2 KR274 side boxes stacked up.

i keep welding hoods, face shields, welding gloves, & xtra cover plates

if i didnt have the 2 side boxes i would probably get a HF side locker for storage.

the "workbench" is approx 30" deep, larger, bulkier stuff, ( chainsaw, sawzall), gets stored on the shelves.

i have enough deep drawer available space to store smaller blow molded boxes.
