I have about 75 of them of various sizes and shapes. If you actually use them, you cannot leave them in a pile - they take forever to untangle.

For awhile I used zip ties, but now I roll them up and put a couple wraps of shrink wrap around them with one of those 6 inch wide handheld rolls. It holds them securely until you need them. I keep a bunch of them in my pickup box, and a bunch in my trailer toolbox, and the rest in my box truck.

It seems whenever I need them, I'm pressed for time - freezing cold and trying to strap something to the trailer. It just wouldn't work if I had to untangle them to use them. Sometimes if I use a bunch of them, it takes a week or so to find the time to wrap them back up, but I always do.

Recently reorganized and bought shoe boxes from the container store. They have three sizes that interchange and stack. Straps are wrapped up secured with a velcro cinch ******** them and stored in the tall shoe box. On the shelf ready to go!

Looks like I'm late to the party. I separate the strap from the ratchet, coil it up tight and put in and ammo can. When separated ammo box stays untangled.

The key for me is to coil the long strap with the hook out rather than coiling around the hook. Then you just hook on and flip the strap over the load, without the hook banging into the truck. Satisfying every time!
