How do you twist those square screw extractors?

Tap handles works best, but I've also used a Knipex pliers wrench or 8-point socket.

I find the extractors work best on bolts or screws that had the head snapped off, but aren't rusted in place. At least the smaller ones tend not to do well with a lot of torque applied to them. For something that's really seized up, I prefer to TIG weld the bolt to deposit metal until I have enough to grab and turn it out.

I've seen guys use left-handed drill bit to remove broken bolts, but I don't have any myself.

..... I do work for an automotive machine shop and I remove all the ones they can get out. I wind up removing lots of EZ Outs, drills, taps and other stuff you can't believe.

It's not too bad when you hear:
"We broke a screw off last night"

But you wait for the other shoe to drop, which usually goes like:
"We tried to get it out, but ......"

Oh, I wish they would have just left it alone and called me first.
