Regarding water, both hoses off, then pull recoil with ignition off until nothing comes out the high pressure quick connect for the outlet hose. Takes about 3 pulls and works great, zero chemicals. Has never not worked, never any freeze damage.

For the fuel, I'll either run double Stabil in the fuel, then run the engine to get that into the carb, and then drain the tank and the carb fully. That way the fuel in the jets, ports, and orifices is at least treated. Or, I really try to run all of my seasonal engines on 100LL aviation fuel, since it does not go stale. Easy for me to obtain from a local community airport, has a credit card pump which is available 24/7.

Be sure to hold up and drain the wand and hoses as well.

I guess it's still a relevant topic though.

I use ethanol free gas, so I don't worry about that part. I have a short hose with a "garden hose fitting" on one end. I screw that on the intake fitting and pour RV anti-freeze in it. Then pull the start cord a few times, refill the RV anti-freeze hose, pull cord, repeat till all pink stuff comes out of the pump outlet fitting.

Too funny, but it ain’t a bad thing to think about.

Minimal fuel left in mine to worry about bad gas later. This is something I do with all my stuff, chain saws, gen set, pressure washer. All of the above sit mostly in my heated garage anyways.

No power washer for me to worry about but I take sprayer pumps down to the basement. If it freezes there I have big problems

I add Stabil Marine to fresh gas, run the machine and fog the engine. While fogging I close the gate valve going to the carburetor and run it dry, then change the oil. I pull the starter cord and get the water out of the pump, then with a small length of garden hose and a funnel I put anti-freeze into the pump pulling the cord until anti-freeze comes out. I cap it off, make sure the tires are properly inflated and put it away. I've been doing this for 35 + years with no problems. If I could store it in a basement I would.
