How does a bolt gripper work?

So I was perusing craigslist and I found a Mac Deluxe Bolt Griper. How does it work? The price certainly had me interested at $20. I am just trying to figure out if it is something that I would actually use.

That's a harmonic balancer puller.

You apply force to the center screw. It pushes against what ever the object to be removed is pressed onto, thus pulling it off. Keith

and its just a puller. uses bolts to grab instead of arms.

So it's a puller, just not for bolts. A part of me wants to buy it but I don't think I have a use for it then.

Honestly, I wasn't sure. With a name like bolt gripper I thought it would resemble something like this.

buy it! - you will use it often if you work on cars - think of it as a pulley puller!

you can pull harmonic balancers, steering wheels, crankshaft pulleys, and gears with it

it would bring $50-$60 if they bothered to put it on ebay, was more like $150 new, give em $40-$50 if it is a poor widow or something like that.

It looks like it is a business out of someones house that buys storage units and sells everything. Their snap on stuff seemed over priced in my opinion, but I guess they don't see mac as being worth as much.
