Bit of a random question i know.

My welding mask is too big to fit in my toolbox.

It's also too expensive to leave sitting around or hanging etc.

Just wondering if anyone has any creative solutions ?

Im thinking a metal hard case to put beside my box etc.

I just hook mine over the knob on top of my tank. Been doing it for years. Only issue is it gets dusty as I don't weld everyday.
I have been looking at the new cabinet from HF, it has a drawer for welding helmets, or welding hat as my wife calls it. Need to see if my tig fits before I buy it

I'm in a workshop with three other mechanics so leaving it around isn't an option.

A file cabinet would work but i've no need for one for anything else so wont be buying one.

I used to store mine in the side cabinet of my toolbox. Keeps it locked up and out of sight.
Now I'm retired so it's no longer a problem.

In the shop by myself so it hangs on the welding bottle valve. If yours is a solar helmet you will need to take it out once in a while to get some light on that solar panel to keep the internal battery charged.

I drive a nail part way into a wall stud, and hang the mask on that. low tech, and extremely easy. but it works. I also have an old diaper hanging right below it to clean the glass with before i use it. there is also a spray bottle of windex hanging on another nail beside the mask.

Get a locker and put it in a corner. You would then have a place for hood along with extra clothes etc.

I keep it in a pilot helmet's bag....along with a clear grinding mask and a # 5 shaded mask. Keeps the dust off the and takes up less space than a file cabinet.

I welded a double section of the square style steel gym lockers to the Side our welding table ( still in progress )... there almost as deep as the table, they fit quite a bit especially our helmets/grinding shields which get bagged and place in the lockers..For Safety keeping...

I keep mine in my closet on the shelf. I don't want to keep it in the garage with all the temperature swings to wear out the battery. I keep all battery stuff inside really.

I sewed up a draw string bag to put mine in. I got the idea from the ones that Miller and Lincoln helmets come with that we have at work. This keeps it clean and dust free. I liked it so much I made one for my clear grinding shield. Can get pictures if your interested.

:+1: Or on my welding chair, there are hooks on the wall for them, but seldom do they make it to said hooks.

Just a big nail on the wall. I hang my safety visor and ear muffs along slide it also. I don't have enough space to afford a drawer just for it.

Side locker for my toolbox I bought from Napa on clearance. It's one of the five foot tall things. I've got it on a stand I built so it's free standing and off the ground, next to one of my Flammable cabinets. Keeps dust and **** off of my gear.

I don't store them. I recycle them when I'm done. Next time I go out to weld I stop by the mailbox and grab one of the local salepapers.

I actually don't have a mask I have... welding goggles so they just go in the big bottom drawer of my box. At some point I'll find a deal on a mask and get one but for basically screwing around with a tiny flux-core welder I guess the goggles are ok?

I put mine in a plastic shopping bag, and hang the helmet on the tank valve. Bag handles and headband hooked on valve gives it great dust protection.

I had the same problem so I found a used rolling toolbox on CL locally for $40 and made it into my rolling welding/tool/storage cart. This solved all the problems I had with the open shelving on the HF welding cart. I used the top of the HF welding cart as my 'tank stand' by welding it to the tool box. When not in use I have my welding helmet in the helmet bag and the door closed on the front of the box.
