How does Milwaukee tool box compare to others?

As much as I love the Milwaukee brand, they can keep their tool box/cart. I would rather buy a box from ...ugh, Harbor Fright (which won't happen either). I understand times are tight, but if you want something that will last, save your money and buy something better.

I currently had a Snap-On chest I bought used in the '80s, a Gerstner chest and riser I bought new in the '90s, a Kennedy big middle chest and a Waterloo roll-cab I got in the '00s.

I've also had a variety of others including '70s era Craftsmans and a few Listas.

In my opinion, the Listas were clearly the best.

If I were in the US and wanted more storage on a budget, I would try to find a used Lista (or Vidmar) at a fair price, or I would try to find a decent used Snap-On. If I was not able to find anything I like used, I would buy a new USG box from HF, assuming the construction is the same as the last time saw them.

I worked in sheet-metal fabricating for over twenty years. The easiest way to compare boxes is by weight. If there is a ten-drawer roll-cab that weighs 700lbs, and you compare it to a ten-drawer roll-cab about the same size and price that weighs 175lbs, it's a pretty clear choice.

Looks like plenty of good deals on used Snappy boxes on Craigslist. Buy something covered with stickers and grease. They usually clean up great.
