Here’s the 3/4 drawer. Definitely way more weight than the hf slides are meant to handle. I say give it another month or 2 before it falls apart

I use the HF trays in the top of my HF cart. Foamfit tools organizer for my Craftsman set in the big box.

Did lots of scrolling through photos to find one of the top of the HF box but couldn't...so gonna have to stick with the wide photo here...7705f1fdc701d06b7b792580df86cb51.jpg6119c4de57c03c92ce49e899f687bd0d.jpg2a58ff90a7cef0e6fe76c7541131da1c.jpg

This is my roll cart so maybe it doesn't qualify since it is the top compartment.c672621a6abf8eea9456ce7a3cb595fc.jpg

Here's mine in a husky 52" chest. Pretty much all husky in HF trays. I figure the tools u can afford are better than not having any. Recently upgraded a set in a plastic case that now lives in my trunk thanks to the husky 200 piece only sockets set for under $100. Impact sockets are hf for standard and tekton for metric.

I made them. Had to measure each Wrench, design the model. Then I Lasered them out and formed them in a Press Brake...it is a lot of work but time well spent.
They looked custom, but I was hoping. I've got someone with a press brake and a plasma table, so I guess I should go measure mine out to build one. They look great man. I hate how other wrench holders are tilted. I dont take the holders out my box often so a smaller footprint is more important to me.

My top drawer is a mix of Westling socket trays, and cheap plastic/metal socket rails screwed to square pieces of aluminum. It was cheap and it works.

Top of the standard box. Top of the metric box looks about the same.

Westling machine trays, most of the sockets are Snap-on, couple sets of Mac, twelve points are early 80s USA Craftsman. Shallow metric impacts are Dewalt. 3/4 set is mixed brands, old, US made, most were my grandfathers. Random stuff on the rails 8-points, plug sockets, some old cheap swivels, small set of old snap on, metric deep impact. Just getting organized in this box, Cornwell custom 84x30

I am just a weekend do it yourselfer so I am usually not in a hurry to grab a tool. My full width deep drawer is used for air tools and I have my socket sets in one drawer oer drive size. The main sets are SK still in the blow molded trays sans lids. Fortunately, SK has the removable lids so they could be put back together.

Sent from my garage.

Here's my main box, in the weld shop. I have a smaller red Kennedy top and bottom in the machine shop, and another 26" Craftsman top and bottom on the other side of the weld shop.
All Proto except for a 1/2" shallow metric Craftsman set, and 1/2" breaker bars,I haven't upgraded yet. 3/4" Proto on top. Mostly Proto in the machine shop, and Armstrong in the other weld shop box. All my other boxes are Kennedys filled with machinist tooling.

Machine shop mechanics box. Sockets and accessories are in separate drawers for each drive size.

I redid my rails yesterday from the plastic Craftsman rails to the aluminum Olsa Tools rails. I engraved the socket sizes on the tops of the posts for the 3/8" and 1/2" sets. I'm planning on cutting down the rails to just what's needed, but I ran out of time yesterday. The pic is the metric drawer only. Impact sockets are Sunex except for the Astro Pneumatic Nanos, chrome sockets are Wiha for the 1/2” and 3/8”, the 1/4” are my old US made Craftsman.

Take a red, yellow, or white pain pen and go over the engraved sizes to contrast against the black peg for easier reading.

could be more organized

should get a multi size rail for all the random sockets that aren't part of a set that I bought to do one specific job. Like the 11mm 1/2" drive allen socket for front caliper pins on the newer grand cherokee's, or the three 12 point sockets I have for the front hub bolts on wrangler's and solid axle ram's, a shallow 10mm 3/8 drive impact socket that's cut deep for the rear toe and camber adjustment on the traverse, acadia, enclave

I've also have an axle nut socket set and full torx bit socket set elsewhere

BAGN1T Did you actually take all the sockets out of their home to take a pic and then put them all back? Good Job

All the photos of your socket drawers are fantastic.
 to the whole bunch of you. I’m impressed.

I've run out of room. I recently purchased a Gearwrench 48 piece 1/4" drive impact socket set that I need to fit somewhere. I might move the long hex and torx bits to a different drawer.

I don't have a garage :)(), so I keep my tool boxes in the house, so when I need to tinker w/ something I have to schlep everything out to the carport, so I keep all of my sockets in boxes, so I don't have to go back & forth even more often than I end up doing anyway:

Same deal w/ impact sockets and 3/4" chrome, but I don't have photos of those!

Bought a few socket rails to fit all the E-sockets on one rail and and other odd sockets that aren't part of a set. Also did a little rearranging to fit the axle nut sockets, so I could ditch the blow molded case and open up space in a lower drawer

Also got a plier rack to clean up the drawer/find **** quicker20200123_141504.jpg20200123_150241.jpeg

Metric on the left and SAE on the right. Adding 6pt 1/2 inch deep sockets soon.

If anyone had a good suggestion for an organizer for torx sockets that can hold 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch drive, it would be appreciated lol 4be19d807ce3ae989f77415a8e27ca35.jpg

What rails do you have?

Yea they are all snap-on except the orange ones on the left which are Westling which I like a lot and get better density out of. Example part number LAS12MBK. I do believe the snap-on are just rebranded MTS or similar.

I would go with one of the socket rails such as Ernst where you can put all the drive size clips on a single rail.

Made some improvements because of this dang thread. Realized that my 1/2” short sockets were cracked and blown out due to impact use. I got a nice 14-piece set from NorthernTool for $29, a 13-piece deep well SAE impact set from Harbor Freight ($19.99), some 1/4 Craftsman deep well sockets from eBay, and a few deep wells from Menards to fill the games (16mm 1/2 and 3/8” drive, and a 13/16 3/8 drive). I wish the Hansen trays would be more modular and could lock together.

Just the chromies...sockets ratchets and extension bars in my new HF cart.

They used to be all in the top compartment of my 40" but got tired of hopping up there for them in my old age :D

3/4 drive tools, impacts grade sockets, sockets bits, and all the rest of the stuff wrenches etc. all have their own drawers still in the roll away

Have someone print out some holders. I printed these out (in white). Cost pennies.
