How far from water should electric be?

Is there any code or rule of thumb when it comes to running water and electric into a building?
I am have about a 30' run from the garage to the house and already have the trench dug about 40" down for the water and waste pipe. I would like to run the electric and data in the same hole and enter/exit near the plumbing on both ends.

In the photo the pencil is the trench with the washer nearest being the pluming. On the other side of the door is where I would like to run the electrical.

i was told that they needed 30" horizontal separation, same as a gas line and electrical.
I am sure that someone here who is familiar with the NEC will correct me though . . .

The only way to know for sure is to contact your local building department.
