How far in?

Just getting started on my 30x40. Eventually I will be installing a two post lift. I would like to plan placement now so that I can pour deeper for the lift bases. My longest vehicle will be an F-150 (about 20'). How far will the lift need to be inside the overhead door in order to have room to shut it with that load?

You need to decide on the actual lift brand and model and get the requirement specs for that lift. The two post I have recommends a minimum 10' clearence on the front and 12' on the rear.
