My pard the truckdriver would say, (aint my problem)

I don't believe in Karma, neither does Hitler or Stalin or they wouldn't have done what they did.

I do things because i want to, do it that way.

Doing something and expecting karma as a reward is not a charitable act in itself. You have expectations that ruins the karma, if it exists.

Do the deed and keep your mouth shut, (tell no one, period, just do it,) let the deed speak for itself.

Your not running a charity here, (Workplace)

Check with his Church and see if they want to help.

Take up donations from the Garage Journal folks that feel the need to donate.

In the end you don't need us to make up your mind for you, disseminate the info and carry on with the decision making process.

If you can find a charity or a church to assist you can tell them you will discount so much for labor and or parts. In doing so, you've now made this your problem, and in doing so you must seek a solution.

Flip a coin, heads i work for free, tails im outta here. You gotta good heart, i like that part.

but for the grace of God go I

In other words, if you can help, help.

And yes, some people have got burned, as per the previous post's.

one of 2 things will happen

dont: maybe I should have helped him out, it might have made a differance
do: warm fuzzy feeling akin to peeing in your pants on a cold winters day

:)

Hey guys.. I came across a new one today. I've owned my own small repair shop for about 14 yrs. (my 2nd one). I have a customer that's been coming here for over 10 yrs. Always been a good payer and a real nice guy on top of that. About 2 months ago he had a mild stroke. It didn't totally screw him up but did put him out of work.

Here's the deal.
He brought his truck into the shop on Tuesday. He needs an inspection. We found a lot wrong with it. Very rusty and used hard in the last year. Anyway he is in a hard spot with cash. I am going to lay out hundreds of dollars on parts alone and several hours of labor. He says he needs his truck but don't know how or when he can re-pay me.

What would you do?....No smart *** answers please.
