How fragile are dies?

I have a reasonable collection of loose dies currently kept 4 or 5 sharing a bin in plastic boxes. Is this foolish? Should I be making a tray where each die is separated from the others?

Thinking of making something similar to that seen at the back of Gunman's drawer in this thread...

I'm thinking it's more important to keep taps separated than it is to keep dies separated.

I have been storing dies together for many years. Tey are no worse for wear. It is not like the cutting edges of the dies are touching anything...
