Considering buying a few sockets, 1/2 drive 32mm and 36mm deep impact sockets. On the tool truck the price is outrageous. Wondering if anyone has ever had to warranty a sunex product and if it was a hassle or not. I know they're great tools for the money I've used them, just looking to save a few bucks. Won't be worth it to me if I can't warranty them easily tho.

I bought my set over ebay, when it arrived the 17mm 3/8 socket was damaged. I called them and spoke to a lady with a southern accent that asked for the part number and where to ship me a new one. Told me to chuck the damaged one. Took all of 5 minutes.

Awesome, I'll need to take this into account on future tool purchasing decisions as well. I'm looking forward to purchasing a set of half-moon and S-obstruction wrenches off Sunex via Amazon soon

I've never warrantied a broken tool but the Sunex customer service staff are super friendly and helpful, and very southern accented as mentioned above. My rebate cards got all screwed up last summer during that insane deal and after a couple of calls they had it all fixed including doing a one off run of gift cards after they were already done!

Sunex customer service is in South Carolina so, that may explain the accent. At least you're not calling India:dunno:

On a side note, if you're worried about warranty consider NAPA. Their impact sockets are pretty tough, won't break the bank and are easily warrantied. However, I doubt if you'll break one through normal use.

+1 on Napa impact sockets. They are Sunex oem. I have actually cracked/split an 18 & 21 deep well in 3/8 drive, no issues with warranty.

Have not had to warranty anything but their customer service has been great, I can speak to the same person in South Carolina every time I call. Everything I have heard about the warranty is great and easy to deal with.
I am not for lying but call them up and say you have a broken socket and ask what you should do, see how they respond.

Sounds like great customer service. That seems to lack these days.

I've had zero problems. My independent dealer even gets locked up universal impacts covered.

Realistically, you're not going to be breaking any normal sockets. All of my failures have been locked up universals, and impact torx.

Why not? Do you expect to break them?

No I don't expect to break them, I have some sunex sockets, and they are awesome. I just like knowing it's taken care of if it does break. I use them professionally, and have the convenience of a tool truck but it's crazy expensive.

I honesty had no idea Napa sold sockets, never went in there again after they gave me the wrong part twice and I had my truck torn apart lol
