Did anyone else watch it? It was on the Science Channel last night at 10 or 11:00, I can't remember. I thoroughly enjoyed it. You could see every process and the difference between how a quality wrench is made and junk.

No, I missed it :(

I did see the one about the F80, though. That was a few weeks back and pretty cool.

Just watched it on the DVR. I saw the show description while surfing the guide last night and recorded it. Pretty interesting to see how open end faces are machined.

There is also an episode showing how impact guns are made (Snap On also). this episode was on just prior to the wrench episode.

For those who missed 'em, don't worry, they always repeat for a couple weeks.

Looks like the combo wrenches comes on again at 4:00 in the morning, followed by the impact at 4:30. I got my DVR set.

I purchased the wrench episode from iTunes, because I keep missing it and didn't want to get up at 4 am; nor, do i have a DVR. A couple of observations; the process they use seems very similar to Hazet's wrench production video. In some areas Snapon is slightly less automated; the sanding down of the leftover trim lines on the wrenches are they are stamped out in the last stage of the forging process; is done by a machine with Hazet on the box end but the handle areas on done on a machine with Snapon. Neither of the two companies has automated the forging press process of the wrenches; in both cases a human holds the "billet" as it is put through the press in three stages; two forming and one to cut the wrench out of the excess metal. I also noticed that Snapon polishes their wrenches for 8 hours before they plate them with chrome; another reason the finish on their tools is so amazing, Hazets finish is more of a "matte" finish... so, this is less of a concern with out the blinding mirror finish Snapon uses.

To compare the two videos; check out the Hazet one done on the "Galileo" German TV show very similar to "How it's Made" here in the USA: http://www.hazet.de/fileadmin/media/download/hazet_filme/02_film_gallileo/
For some reason I still find the video fascinating; even though I watched it a bunch of times and I don't speak German either! :(

Overall Hazet factory video here with emphases on wrenches, sockets, ratchets etc.: http://www.hazet.de/fileadmin/media/download/hazet_filme/03_film_kabel1/
