I am finishing putting down the fine stone and compacting getting ready for my floor pour. I am doing radiant floor heat and will be putting down 2" rigid insulation then rebar/mesh and then tube.

How level is level enough for the stone just below the insulation? I am using a transit to level it etc. is 1/2" close enough?

Thanks
Tom

The weight of the slab will help the insulation conform to the stone. The question is 1/2" over how many feet? Sometimes best to run a string line from one side of the garage to the other and work from that.

The foam will contour to the stone when you pour the concrete. Keep in mind that any irregularity in the stone surface equals more concrete that you'll need in the slab to get it level. That's not a bad thing except that concrete costs more than stone.
