So I installed this Friedrich system 9 years ago.

Long term report: The system has just developed trouble. About a week ago I noticed it not cooling and checked the pressures. Low side was down to about 60lb and high side about 250. Charged it back up to 120 low side and it worked for a couple days but now not putting out again. Most likely a a significant leak. Will try to find the leak, but with that fast and sudden of a leak I'm expecting component failure.

So I got about 9 years trouble free. Not terrible, but not great either.

How long are your mini-splits lasting? I've seen the industry predictions touted by those on the selling side, but how about real world results from owners...

Given the price point on these and the ease of replacement, I would be happy to get 9 years. Tech has improved anyway.

Over 10yo is very common. ~15yo is probably when we do the most replacements.

They are fairly easy to clean IMO. Once you get the hang of it and you got the right tools for the job, it's really not that bad !

I had trouble with my MR. COOL, first bad King Valves, then a circuit board issue. I kicked it to the curb in two years, Maybe assembled on a friday or something.. but mainly due to poor customer support.
Replaced it with a GREE, we'll see...

Ahh.. American made! Well, they used to be. I know several people that worked for Friedrich here in Texas and remember when they made a move to ductless. From what I recall, these are straight imports and rebrands from China. People I know no longer work there, so I can't tell you anything about how well they did in terms of being reliable.
I installed Daikins. We're at year 4 or 5

My particular Friedrich system is a re-branded LG, which is a South Korean company.
