How long does it take to get a new member registered?

My wife decided to join the forum and we were just wondering if there is some sort of approval process these days. I joined over 10 years ago, so I have no idea how long it currently takes.

After registering, she said it told her she would receive an email with further instructions. But so far, no email. I think it has only been about a day so far though.

Anyway, any info would be appreciated.

I have recently registered, it took me about 3 minutes in total, approval was not required, so it seems pretty straightforward

JCQuick - Bring him on in!

Ryan - Thanks. She has it sorted now. And thanks for taking the time to post the link.

Robbi321 - Thanks. Always good advice before seeking help.

Richard Cranium - She said it was a bit longer, but all is solved. Thanks for your input.

PugetDude - Too funny. Yes, hopefully I won't regret this someday. But I was really excited when she expressed a genuine interest in something so dear to me.

Edward Whip - Thanks for the feedback

TO ALL INTERESTED:
I was told she got the email about a day and a half past the time of registering, and this was based on the email time stamp. Not sure why it took longer than some of you, but all is well now. Thanks for the input and help.

Oh just wait until someone misspells a word to completely change the meaning of a post. For example on a welding forum a member was looking for a certain sized wrench. He misspelled it and instead asked for a WENCH. You should a seen the pile-up. It started with the women members, but quickly grew with virtually everyone giving him grief.:headshake

I could see how that could get out of hand. I mean if you start talking metric sizes and are asking about a size 24 wench instead of a 24mm wrench, folks could get sideways thinking you're calling pleasantly plump gal wenches. Start talking a bout a 6mm wench & the jealousy & claws comes out over a skinny wench. Moral of the story is to spell check... LMAO!

Thought it was about a winch, IIRC.

Shopnut, I hope your wife has a sense of humor.

Otherwise she'll have to hang with a couple dozen guys like doc here for whom the humor seems to be lost on. ;).

Yeah, no matter how many times you recheck before hitting the post button, chances are you will miss something. Can't even blame it on dyslexia. LOL

My dissertation has a spelling mistake in the abstract. There is no way to correct it, but in my defense none of my committee members noticed either.
