How long to wait before reporting seller?

I give 10 days after he should have payment before I send a polite email. 2 weeks before I begin to get antsy. I think you have to figure 4 days shipping each way if he mailed on the same day he got check thast over a week. I think you are being a little hasty.

I know in my area you can buy Ebay gift cards at Giant Eagle grocery store. I think this would be cheaper, faster, and much easier than money orders. I personally have never used them but I know everytime I purchase from ebay they have a space for gift certificates.

You have to have a active credit or debit card to use those even for authentication purposes or something like that. And paypal is not fool proof either I got ripped off for 70 bucks awhile back because the guy did not have anything in his PP account when the dispute was ruled in my favor.

I was able to get a phone number to go with the address thanks to Google Maps. Apparently, the address that I sent the money order to is a place of business. The guy I talked to on the phone was apparently the seller's brother; he said to call back tomorrow morning at 8:00AM because "Charles" is at the auction today and he will be back in the morning.

So far, I've sent the guy 3 emails asking him if he's received the money order with no reply back.

Ebay has contact info if you look up the seller with them.

I'm not sure what lesson you are getting from this, but for me its "sorry paypal only, no checks or money orders". BTW most smart sellers treat a bank issued money order the same as a check 7 days to clear after deposit.

It was a USPS money order.

Lesson learned? Get a tracking number next time!!

Check on ebay you can get his phone number. I would call him and talk to him before I went any further.

Very nice ratchet BUT you have every right to leave feedback describing the long wait. I would still give the guy a positive, a neutral is just as bad as a negative and I really don't think a negative is deserved. If it was me, I'd leave a positive but leave a comment explaining while the ratchet was perfect shipping time was excessive and communication was lacking.

Thats not too bad. Im surprised you were worried so quickly though..Especially if he has 100% feedback.

Some people are constantly worried that their being scammed though..

I had someone buy something from me. He sent me a MO. Took a week for it to arrive (normal for 1st class mail) I email him the day I get it saying that its on its way. (I ship the next day).

A few days later he leaves me negative feedback saying he paid me weeks ago and never got it.
Never once tried to email me.

Of course like 2 days later he gets the item..and luckily he retracted his feedback.

Not comparing you with that guy.. But when you buy stuff online, and then pay with a MO..You should have alot of patience. Atleast 1 week for the MO to reach their hands, and then up to 2 more weeks for the item to arrive in your hands (if they ship USPS parcel).

Nothing wrong with the feedback you left him. Hopefully that will catch his attention and he'll check his email more often.

He sent a USPS money order on the 10th, seller said he received the MO on the 17th and today is the 6th of MARCH. In my opinion,waiting 24 days to receive his merchandise after payment was sent is excessive.

If you check on ebay you can get his name and address. I would then call him by telephone normally when contacted by phone they will respond. Paypal will take money out of your checking account no credit card if you set it up this way.
