28 days is usually the time it takes concrete to cure but in reallity concrete is alway's curing. Also, 28 day is the industy standard that concrete reaches it strength.

I am curious more than anything. The 28 day number you use. Is that a worst case to account for all geography, etc. Not trying to hijack the thread, seems like something others would be curious about as well:beer:

Industry standard for new cement to reach full strength and moisture levels. In some cases cement can double in strength from 14 days of cure time to 28 days of cure time. Also most state's require 28 days on stuff they coat or have coated, Ohio being one of them.

Thanks Guys. Let me rephrase. I understand that the number is generally accepted. I am just curious if you find that actual results vary by region and weather.

I agree on 28 days. Garage floors & concrete are expensive enough, why take a chance by coating early?

You can coat it but I bet in a year or two a crack will show up. Maybe recoat it in a few years to freshen and cover any cracks.

It is a chemical reaction that is occurring (hydrate |ˈhīˌdrāt| noun Chemistry
a compound, typically a crystalline one, in which water molecules are chemically bound to another compound or an element.), 28 days is a must. Environment has a little effect, but not enough to use it as a factor. Yes, concrete in theory is continuing to strengthen forever.

Coat early fool science.:dunno:
