BSP (British Pipe Thread), Couplers, Flange, and probably a couple more...

I've had one that was a weird flat o-ring too before...

DIN in Light Light, Light and Heavy. Most available with O-ring or no o-ring interchange

ISO 6149 a metric version of o-ring boss

Komatsu

Kobelco

JIS

Parker triple thread

Flanges code 61 and code 62

Cat flanges a thicker code 62 with special flanges but a standard code 62 with flanges will substitute

BSPT

BSPP with captive seal, same with oring and retaining ring interchanges

BSPP Cutting face

HIAB a British threaded ORFS o-ring face seal

there are a ton more and it is common for manufacturers to use uncommon styles

JCB uses bent pipe (yes bent pipe not tube) assemblies with BSPP swivel hose ends to attach

It keeps me busy keeping up.

I recently placed a stock order to assemble one and two wire and suction hose roughly 5800-1800 psi in 1/4" thru 1-1/4 plus low pressure suction and return lines to 2". The skid weighed 1800# and it cost me 7 grand. I tried to buy a minimum of two each sometime 10 of the most common uncommon styles.

I will follow up with 10 grand to service 4000-6000 psi hoses early next year.

Post a pic and let us know what type of equipment along with a manufacturer and I am sure someone can identify it.

Is it close to npt?

A picture would help.

If a pipe fitting threads in but won't seal then I would suspect it is a British pipe fitting. That said British pipe fittings come in both tapered and parallel threads.

If it is a parallel fitting threading into a cylinder, it will need a bonded washer.
