How many fixtures be recomended?

I really like LED lighting but am unsure how many I would need for my upcoming shop build.

My previous build was a 24'x24' (10 ft ceiling) shop that I installed nine 8ft (4 x 4' t12 lamps per fixture).... and was very happy with the light output.

How many of these LED lights would be needed for a 30'x50' shop with a 12 ft ceiling?

Based on nine 4 tube T12 fixtures, that's 36 lamps at about 2600 lumens for each lamp. So your previous garage had about 163 LU per sqft, which is a lot of light. To get the same 163 LU per sqft of light in the 30X50 you'd need at least 40 of those LED fixtures. Each LED fixture shows about 5900 LU. I think 100 LU per sqft is plenty and that would be at 26 fixtures.
