How many Harbor Freight tape measures did you give for Christmas this year just because they were free? :lol_hitti

I kind of lost count, but I kept three! Pretty decent, too. 1" by 25'. Time will tell how good the locking mechanism is!

Give away none. I only have one because the coupon was there when I picked up some chip brushes. I took it to the FD and put it in my locker.

I always use the tape measure coupon first. I have 3 or 4 of them laying around and I've worn out or broke 2. Its an HF product that I actually like. Better than the crappy flash light for sure and I don't feel bad if something happens to it

I have 3 or 4 laying around at all times. I don't have to look too far to find one. The only problem I have had with them,is that the edge on them is quite sharp, and will cut your fingers if you are not careful.I don't give them as gifts.

I didn't give any away but I have one. That's enough. It feels OK in your hand but I hate the scale. I can't get enough of the flashlights. One day I took in a coupon that had a free flashlight and like a dollar off one item. It was a weird coupon. Anyway, I grabbed a flashlight to buy and headed to the counter to pay for my almost free light and got the other one free.

That's all I bought that day.

No, the store is not far.

I have about 8 of them all over the place. I don't have to worry about wearing one out, they're better than anything up to about the $8-10 range in my hand. I have a few other cheapo Stanley, Kobalt, some older Komelons and Lufkins that feel 'cheaper' than these.

Now on the one hand a lot of those are 10, 12 & 15 ft ones so they are lighter anyway. But these don't **** unless you're on a jobsite and you need it to be a work horse. I have permanently lent them to friends and family plenty in the past.

The blue '30 led' or whatever flashlight is actually pretty decent. The magnetic tray was my go-to for the HF freebie but I haven't seen one of those coupons recently. Now it's a coin toss between the blue flashlight and multimeter. Free batteries if nothing else.

Not a fan of them but I have several and use them in dirty situations or last resort. I do tile and they rust way quicker than any ther brand I've ever used. Split quick too

I think I have close to 20 clamps, a dozen flashlights, 6 tarps, 1 magnetic parts bowl, at least 6 of the blue 20 led lights, and 4 or 5 tapes? Its close to my work, so I go a lot!

I've never given any for gifts, but have 3 of the tape measures. They're ok, but I'm with Zeke and don't care for the scale either. I prefer the free flashlights and use those coupons first. I just now counted and I have 14 of the flashlights and half are still in their factory packaging. Rather than replacing the batteries, I just grab another new one when needed.

They don't send me any free coupons that often (once in a while). I got one for the tape measure and the blade isn't thick enough (bends too easy). Still usable and I do use it.

I have around 12, like others all over the place. I even RETURNED ONE. Pulled tape out and try to push back in and before I knew it had 25' out. Rolled it up ,took it back, and they gave me another.
Have 6 of the clamps and of the new 30 LED, like said pretty neat.

Check your newspaper on Sundays. I never get freebies in mail but almost always in paper on Sunday sometime the are hidden in coupon insert sometimes a single piece of paper ad and sometimes in the parade or USA weekend insert and sometime all sources have them

As to the tape measures have 4-5 laying around the house plus 3-4 in work truck. I work in the field on generators and sometimes need a tape measure so I carry them and if I lose it no biggie. I do love that they are lifetime warranty though take the broken one in and replace it.

I have a drawer in the house for nothing but free H.F. stuff. Three tapes, Four meters, two clamps, five led lights, one tarp, two screwdriver sets, three pairs of scissors, and on and on. I would never give them for gifts, but, they make great stocking stuffers. Ken

I guess on this topic take a look at what I found on Craigslist today in the Boston area. I typically go thru all the New England listings because everything in NE is at most a 2hr drive for me. All that free stuff from HF is being bundled for sale. Some people.....

Sad. I also see these items for sale at flea markets in the nice weather season.
Been selling it for a few weeks.
I posted it in the 'wishful thinker" thread a couple weeks ago.

Well, yes, that's what I did. Extras above and beyond the "real" gifts. Another "extra" I usually give is picture calendars themed to match the recipient. This year I couldn't find an antique or Ford truck calendar for BIL. Gotta start looking earlier next year.

:lol_hitti Pretty good value -- even though the seller got them for free. Those little blue lights are cool, and the tarps are like $10 at anywhere but HF.
