Just for fun, I'm curious as to how many locations you have tool "kits" stashed? This does not include gardening tools, or carrying a "pocket tool" or having a multitool in your desk. For me it would be 5. . .
1. Garage (only counts as one "kit").
2. Shed. Smaller, mostly cast off and extra tools to work on the garden tractors.
3. Car. Tool bag beyond the normal tire changing tools.
4. Office (actually, my lab). Tools are not technically mine, but I've added to it over the years.
5. House. Standard tackle box style tool box, with tools and fasteners. Lots of picture hanging stuff.

I don't currently have any tools in my truck. I had a behind the fenderwell box in my old truck but that disappeared when the truck was stolen and I never replaced it. I haven't decided what I want to do in my new truck yet. I may start a thread looking for suggestions on that.

Two - my garage and my work. Don't really carry anything in the car anymore as 99% of my driving is within 20 miles of my house, and the 1% of the time I'm outside that area, I've got roadside assistance/towing included with my insurance.

I do have several different kits for different jobs around the house that I keep in the garage. If I left them in the house, they'd be scattered to the wind never to be seen again. Not accusing anyone of anything, but the tool kit I made for my wife must have gotten robbed by extra strong mice who do handyman work because there is literally nothing left in the box.

The romantic hills of central Umbria, Italy,
1- the main box against the wall of the shop
2 - my traveling box next to the shop door (dad's old Kennedy)
3 - one at the outside (chainsaw) bench
4 - small tray box in the house next to the woodstove
5 - Another tray box in the well house
6 - a third at the "radio shack" (we're both hams, so whaddya expect?)
7 - A work truck full of tools
8 - Behind the seat of the pickup
9 - Should I count my tool belt?
10 - one under the back seat of the Model T (actually split between there and a running board toolbox)
11 - My gun tools on my reloading / gunsmithing bench. (Also holds a lot of my watchmakers stuff)

Not counting all the "Kitchen Tools" (knives, gadgets, boards, pins, etc) in both kitchens (one indoors, one outside) because while they're tools, they're not the kind of tools usually in discussion here.

Main "shop" - back half of my parents' garage.
My "80% Tools" - stashed in my trunk, allow me to do 80% of household tasks, and more. I leave a couple super basic tools in an ammo can in the rear box of the atv, but that about sums up everything.

dose keeping a flashlight, 2 screw drivers, and pliers by the breaker box, furnace count as a kit?

pole barn and garage each have a tool box.

when I used to off road I had a tool kit on my buggy, when ever I had to do work on it I would always work out the box on the buggy, that way if I broke down on the trail I knew I had the tools to fix it.

Shop, House, Truck and Jeep.

My Shop and House are about a block apart, get tired of running back and forth fast.

I'm discounting work, as the tools are company owned.

Garage shop (back) with some tools in the front. Mostly woodworking and mechanics tools

Basement shop - mostly construction / plumbing / electrical tools and electronic repair tools

Office desk drawer (1/4 drive socket set and screwdrivers)

And several other places.

I like tools and not having to go far for what I need. This way I can cure an addiction with the lazy reality.

This is funny, I was laughing to myself last weekend as I was assembling yet another tool kit, for my car hauler trailer.

1.) Upstairs Laundry. (pretty decent setup for fixing things like the dryer, furniture, a top chest would be a good idea, lol.)
2.) downstairs kitchen (the usual drawer full of basic stuff)
3.) Tool shed out back ( wrenches, cordless, for fence & lawn mower repair...)
4.) truck tool box ( full tool bucket, MM/SAE, electrician stuff)
5.) Car hauler ( Bag of tools, things I may need at the track)
6.) Garage ( full of very organized power and hand tools)

1. Shop
2. Very extensive kit in car
3. Extensive kit in Atv
4. Simple kit in snowmobile #1
5. Duplicate kit in snowmobile #2
6. Typical stuff in house to hopefully save the inevitable walk outside during a
blizzard for the stupidest thing
7. Pack of typical sharpening/repair tools and a few spare parts kept with my
main saw and trail work stuff

The kit in my car can and has gotten me out of what could have been serious situations in as usual the worst places possible, same for the kit in my Atv.

This is a good question. Many years ago I decided that I spent more time gathering and looking for tools than I did using them. I decided to "kit" most all my tools. It took awhile, because I had to duplicate a lot of the common tools and that was a bit expensive. I can honestly say that it has increased my ability to get stuff done by about 2x

1. I always have a leatherman in my pocket
2. My office desk has a drawer full of tools
3. I have a small portable "diagnostic kit" that has enough tools to diagnose and fix easy problems - carried in a Veto MB2
4. I have a larger portable kit in a Veto LC - I can fix many things with it.
5. I have a Fatmax rolling toolbox with more socket sets and power tools in it
6. I have my garage rollaround toolboxes
7. I have a pretty complete kit of tools in my truck
8. I have my shop - which has about every tool I've ever needed.

I also have several specialty toolkits:
1. I have a stack of about 30 HF containers that hold all my various small parts and part kits
2. I have a paintless dent removal kit in a big old military toolbox - use it occasionally
3. I have an electronic kit in another toolbox and a couple of meter kits in various bags - soldering tools, breadboards, stuff like that
4. I have a car polishing/buffing/waxing kit which includes a buffer, polisher and various buffing compounds - it rolls around in small bin that looks like a trash can.
5. I have a machinist toolbox and rollaround for my lathe and another for my mills.
6. I have a kit of sewing supplies that I use with my various sewing machines.
7. I have a kit of HVAC tools - gauges, temp probes, ac machine and stuff.
8. I have a strapping kit I use to box stuff up and strap things down.
9. And one that I almost forgot - not really a kit, but definitely useful - I have a couple of Jump boxes that I carry around with me most of the time.

1. Workshop is where my two roller cabinets live
2. Garage floor is where the stuff I'm currently using lives until I take it back to the workshop
3. Whichever of the three Jeeps I am taking four wheeling has an appropriate amount of tools packed in it.
4. Work van has a roller cabinet bolted to the floor with most of the tools I need for work.
5. Kitchen table is where the overflow sits for months on end until I take it back to the appropriate location.
6. Garden shed for the gas powered tools or really bulky stuff like the engine hoist and floor jacks.

most of my tools are in my service truck, overflow and unused "working" tools are stored in my work boxes in the garage.

garage has it's own set of mechanics type tools and equipment, as well as welding/fab stuff, grinders, and corded drills.

i keep all woodworking type, corded and cordless tools in the basement, i do most of the wood working down there.

in my reloading room, i have most of my machinist tools, and a selection of hand tools to take care of house repairs and DIY projects.

wife has a bag of stuff in her "dish room" for her craft projects.

i dont keep much more than a set of jumper cables in the vehicles, (just bought a new '18 GMC terrain last night)
in my '00 sierra i keep a 12v compressor, plug kit, breaker bar/socket for the aftermarket tires/wheels, hammer and a big screwdriver.

My father had a screwdriver in every drawer in the house and garage! We must have given away 100 screwdrivers when we cleaned out his house!

1.
The Shed. If I can't fix it in there, it can't be fixed. If some small thing in the house breaks, it gets taken out to the Shed. On a large appliance/wiring/etc I have a small tote to bring things in.
If one of my vehicles breaks down on the road, it gets towed.

I have tools like everyone else, it sounds.

Tool chests in garage and two shop buildings. Actually two different sets in my big shop.
Each car has a kit (6)
Each motorcycle has a kit (various aftermarket kits replacing the cheesy factory sets).
The tractor has a minimal set on board. I forgot that one until someone mentioned theirs.
The kitchen drawer with a handful of tools.

I have to fight the urge to buy nice small sets I see for vehicles.

And lately a number of those lithium jump batteries.

Shop - just about everything. Mostly airplane tools, construction tools, some welding, and all of the yardwork stufff.
Garage (front) - a few specialized car maintenance items (ramps, jackstands, oil pan, etc) plus some bike tools (chain cleaner)
Garage (back) - large portable toolbox for 90% of misc. household maintenance, furniture assembly, etc., including a cordless drill and impact driver.
Upstairs and downstairs closets - Each has one of those cheap Chinese “homeowner tool set” blowmolded kits from well-meaning relatives. Good for quick minor tasks needing a screwdriver, or for hanging pictures, etc.
Blue car - Basic kit with sockets, screwdrivers, etc.
The second vehicle will get a similar tool kit once my wife is driving again
