Are you talking about sets that come in blow mold cases and are sold as sets or ones that you piece together from different brands you have laying around?

Full on set of typical mechanics/electrical tools fill a 56" combo and then some in the garage, just basic socket sets/wrenches/screwdrivers/pliers/plumbing & electrical tools in the basement, very basic sets in truck & car, even smaller set on the motorcycle, multi-bit sets and some random other tools in the kitchen pantry and desk at work. Specialty stuff like drywall tools, carpentry stuff, conduit benders, various hand saws, old school brace & bits, staplers, tile tools and stuff like that are in bins or on pegboard in the basement. Drill presses, table saws, chop saws, nail guns, reciprocating saw, circular saw, jig saw, grinders, electric drills and other stuff is probably wherever I used it last.

So what's that... somewhere between two and eight sets I guess.

One at work, one in my truck, one in my shed, one in my basement. Not as many in the truck and basement as the rest-but enough to do most jobs.

Basically 2.5. The 0.5 is the few "specialty" small screwdrivers, plier and cutters I use when working on computers.

A couple of years ago, I started working on building a travel or "go" box. Something can gran when going on an 1-2 week camping/vacation trip. It has been (and still is) an exercise in how to get 10 lbs of **** into a 5 lb bag ! :D

I started with the 17" plastic Craftsman hand box. It grew into the 20" plastic box. Threw away the tray. Tools are packed in plastic pouches. The darn thing weights so much I have extra straps on it ! :bounce:

My wife has "her" tools. Just some screwdrivers, pliers, hammer, etc in the laundry room. She also has a nice pouch in her car with 1/4" and 3/8" that I added a Vise Grip and a couple of screwdrivers to.

Its spread out between work, my trucks, my home, and a friends house.

Oh and a few in a rented storage building.

I assume that a complete set of tools would be two of every tool ever made since men started making tools. If that is the definition then I own about one one-billionth of a set.

I do own a few screwdriver sets ,drill combo sets, socket sets, wrench sets, pliers sets , hand saw set, even I own a pair of hammers that came together in a set. I own a rather large cantilever tool box that I keep at home or take with me if needed. And at work a large craftsmen cabinet style tool box. But I feel none of my sets are complete and that I always am in need of more tools.

if you are meaning how many places do i have tools....

my service truck is stocked with "working" tools, i'm a const eq field mechanic.
the garage is pretty well stocked as well, seldom do i need to get tools out of my truck, and i keep "working" tools i seldom/rarely need in the garage
the house has enough to do most repairs/fixes that need done..

i dont keep much in any vehicle unless i'm traveling, or headed out to a friends place to make some repairs.

I have five.

Garage - main set

House - 'cause my wife doesn't want to walk out to the garage when she needs a screwdriver to tighten a pot handle.

Two car sets

Work - I work in an office and keep a very small Craftsman tool box with the basics - hammer, pliers, screwdrivers, and utility knife.

If you are talking about general mechanic's sets like wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers etc., I have 4. The main box in the shop, a fairly complete portable box in my truck, a cheaper hodge-podge set in the house and a blow-molded case in the boat.

Also have a few wrenches and screwdrivers in the box on the tractor, and some specialized sets for electrical and plumbing.

Revised above to:

Basement shop full, 99% complete set. (when it comes to tools, you really never complete the set). :lol_hitti

I used to have 2 sets that were stocked enough for industrial maintenance work. One set at work & one set at home.
Because of career changes, I now have one MASSIVE set in my shop, another set in a couple of tool boxes that I can throw in my truck and my Dad's set.
