How many tools does a person need?

Thats because just out of camera frame is the electrician's portion of this same shop...and the automotive part too...

And to OPs original question...I have no idea...but I figure if I keep on getting more...I will certainly know when I have enough...and at this point I know that I do NOT!

Besides, Chistmas is coming and the wifey is going to ask what I must have...and I will, after 36 years of perfecting it, provide here with my tool list (complete with part number and source code) and no price.

As Clint Eastwood pointed out in Dirty Harry, "A man has got to know his limitations". I know my shop has not reached its' limit on tools.

I think knowing how to use the tools we acquire is equally as important as quantity.
