I'm just about ready to graduate from "piddler" to "tinkerer" and even I have a couple hundred. The thought of having "too many" has never crossed my mind. ::shrug::

I've got 1 set of snap on metrics combos 8~19mm

4 SK flare nut wrenches

3 snappy saltus wrenches

a set of Teng cranked ring spanners 8~19mm

Gearwrench serpentine belt tool kit

5 ratchet wrenches

2 high performance wrenches (very long)

1 Stahlwille ring spanner in 5/8 and 3/4 AF

Set of metric flare crowfoots

2 stubby snap on wrenches

And a tray of oddballs/modifieds/half moons/and a few larger metric combos up to 27mm

I manage OK and only buy singles for the odd job nowadays.

I gave all my imperial spanners away in the 90s as I don't need them anymore :)

I got a fistful of double box about like Stevo has, I finally rounded up most of the double open and set them aside, we really don't use them and live on a steady diet of plain combo when possible with a drawer or 2 of specialty. I don't buy every one ever made, some mix and match as needed,
