Hello all! I am looking to diamond grind my floor before epoxy. I have called several places in town to rent a grinder to no avail. (Lincoln, NE). I have a several calls out to have someone do the work for me. What should I expect to pay per square foot to diamond grind my 3 car garage. Thanks! Chad

Chad:

I would be surprised if you can get someone out there for less than 800-900.00 per day. I hope I am wrong.

I would think Legacy is correct on the amount.Have you checked all the local tool rental companies? Ask if they have a floor sander and then a diamond blade for it. Have you called the local HD, they usually rent them.

Thanks Christine. I checked the other two big box stores in the area but not HD. Have also tried one of the rental shops to no avail. I did get a bid back today at 65 cents per sq/ft. I thought that was reasonable. Thanks again! Chad

That"s a good price I think I would be in the $600-$700 range to diamond grind, bull-nose the front lip of the garage and then vac and blow out the garage, walls, garage doors inside and out. If there is a peeling coating on the floor already its $300 more as well.
Good luck with the project!

$1.00 per square foot is what I pay. Larger projects are a bit less.

Also the condition of the floor can impact the price. If it's fairly smooth and level it will go a lot quicker than if the floor has waves, uneven sections, spalling, previous coatings etc.

$0.65/ft2 is pretty good in my book.

+1

I recently got a bid of $2,000. for 2500 sq. ft. = $.80 per sq. ft.

That was for a 20 year old floor in pretty rough condition.
