How much heat will an acetate screwdriver handle handle?

I have an idea for a custom tool I want to make out of a regular nut driver, but the process would involve curing some polymer at 275° F for 15 minutes. Would an acetate handle survive that?

All I know is, a soldering iron will melt them, lol. But that's much hotter than 275.

I think 275°F should be fine, depends of course of each specific screwdriver... Could try buying the cheapest acetate one in the store (or an old one) and testing it in an oven.

The project is to make a finger-saving tool for installing rail joiners on N scale model railroad track. My idea was to pack some Fimo clay into the business end of a nut driver, stick a rail joiner into the clay to make a recess in the shape of the joiner, and bake it to cure. Et voilà, a rail joiner driver.

It has since occurred to me that I can use a cheap multi-bit driver for this, like this $2 example from Harbor Freight:

That way the handle doesn't have to go into the oven.

By the way, that photo is from the HF website, and apparently they couldn't find one that wasn't already grubby to take the picture.

Here's the final result:

I only had this band-aid colored Fimo clay handy, so it kind of looks like a Fleshlight for a mouse with two dicks. But it holds a rail joiner just as intended:

It's amazing how easily the edge of one of those joiners can open up your fingertip. Hopefully this'll solve that problem.
