How much is this Cornwell box worth??

Guys, I could use a little help pricing this tool box. I've got a vehicle for sale on craigslist and I've been offered this Cornwell box as a trade. I don't know much about nice tool boxes but the guy says it was $7,000 new. Now that may be true as he said that he bought it as one of two custom boxes at a Tulsa tool show. It's worth nowhere near that to me... but let me know what you think!? How much could I sell this for? How much would you give for it? Can you ID it? Any opinions on Cornwell as compared to SnapOn or Matco? All I know about the box is that its 58", no damage and the graphics are airbrushed on. TIA

I'd ask for the model number.

I'd also like a model number to help price it. However, with air brushed boxes...Its a buyers market. It takes the right guy to want that design. If may fly out of your shop, or it may sit until you take a loss on the whole deal... I'd be passing if it were me. Some people say this about colored boxes, not even air brushed, but that's less common of a complaint today.

Snap-On boxes 58"x24" are offered all the time $1500-$2500. If you buy one right and take care of it, it will pretty much hold its value.

The Cornwell looks like a one of a kind duck. So it would be very hard to resell if you had too, so you shouldn't pay too much for it in the first place. Personally, I wouldn't buy that box. If you are looking for a box, get the one you really want.

Thanks for the replies! Unfortunately, yall are right in line with what I was thinking. I was disappointed to hear that the graphics were airbrushed. I agree.. it drastically limits the market for resale. Well this box is nothing I would ever pick out for myself and looks like it'd be a tough sale. I'm taking your advice and passing...

My Cornwell guy offered one of those with the hutch for $2500 used. That was about two years ago. It was bone stock and didn't have the gaudy flames on it.

rollcab is: CTB-CAB5824BL 495 LBS. 58" x 24" x 39"(with casters)

canopy is: CTB-CPY5824BL 172 LBS. 58" x 24" x 24".

Top drawer rated @ 400 LBS. load capacity. all others 120 to 200 LBS. load capacity. Actual drawer depth is 21.5".

BTW, I believe these older Cornwell boxes were made by Kennedy. The newer boxes are made in Mexico by Waterloo. The new ones are really nice and sharp looking!
