Depends on location. Right now in OK that is about a 500 set up. If you are in say, CA that would probably go for 1000. New York 1500.

Without knowing how well the drawers open, etc., I would probably offer you around $600.

Well I live in Ohio if that makes a difference. And all the drawers open and close. They slide pretty quickly so I dont know if the wheels are loose on them or what but it takes barely any effort to open them.

Luckylady, I buy and resell lots of tools and boxes. That is an older but well made tool box. They would not be desired by pro mechanics but would be desirable for somebodies home shop. Price will be determined by condition and how well the drawers function.

The pic really doesn't tell condition so look at the bottom edges of the box and drawers and look for rust. A little is to be expected, a lot will drop the price quickly. Then, how smoothy to the drawers open and close. Smooth and easy is good. Also look for dents and scratches. Less is good.

The $500 to $750 price range mentioned above would be for one in good to real good shape. If it is beat up, expect to get $300 to $500. If it is real rusty and the drawers don't work well $200.

I just sold a similar set up with a side box that was buffed and polished and working great for $800.

If you state your general location, some one here may be interested in it.

I would pay $500 for a complete set like that. I've always wanted a stack of that vintage of Mac toolboxes to put all of my machine tools in.
They are very well suited to machinists.

Sideways MAC boxes are rare, pain in the *** to use though.

I have no idea on price but I'd probably pull the middle box from the set and put it on fleabay, the middles seem to go for good money.

Sorry to hear about your dad.

Those old MAC triple-stack boxes are quite rare. Spray it with WD40, wipe it down good, take some better photos, with dimensions and it should bring $750 easy on craigslist.

That^. Take a few minutes to wipe it down good, take some good pics and list it on CL. I think $6-800 is within reason. It's got the middle chest, thats a big plus! I would probably ask $900 obo and take highest offer over $600.

Having the intermediate chest makes that a sweet combo. Not many mid-chests were purchased compared to two piece units. The drawers appear straight and you feel that they slide easily.

I'd venture $500 to $700 if they will clean up nice and with little rust.

In Denver, I paid earlier this year 300.00. The top chest is smaller on my set (not sure of the MAC number) with 3 drawers and mine is in excellent shape, for a 1979-1982 vintage.

I think the big question is how long the OP want's to stock the item? Sure you could ask for $600-$700 but man it may very well take months to unload. $400 if you want to sell it within a week.
